Not all of the treatments are the same! Before you start, here is some information about Permanent Hair Reduction and Laser Hair Removal that you should know:

We use the gold standard Sciton BBL and ClearScan for our laser hair treatments. as well as other lasers and diodes.  This modality is utilizing a flash of intense light to selectively destroy hair-growing follicles.  The Sciton has a controllable temperature so the physician can select what temperature to apply to the epidermis during the flash of light.  This improves the safety and cosmetic outcome, as well as making the procedure comfortable.

All laser manufacturers state that their product is painless but in reality there is a rubber-band snap like feeling when the laser is pulsed.  If this bothers you, we have an anesthetic cream that can be applied to blunt even this minor annoyance.  The Sciton laser has a large handpiece footprint so with a single flash of light, a relatively large area of growing hair follicles can be treated.  This makes the treatments go much quicker than some of the other competing lasers but we have the ability to select the right technology for you and your skin color.

The light selectively attacks melanin in the hair follicle so those hairs that are the darkest respond the best.  However, even lighter hairs can be successfully treated.  Since the light “goes after” pigment in the hair follicles, it is important for you to NOT have a tan or be sunning yourself prior to or during the treatments.  All skin types can be treated but darker skin types have a higher risk of post-treatment discolorations.

Prior to Your Treatment

1) We want you to shave the area to be treated  before your treatment. The skin should be as bare as possible, but not plucked or waxed. Depilatory cream can be used if you do not like to shave. Some places that use older equipment ask you to come in with a few days of hair growth. We use the most powerful equipment in the word, so that you can stay bare all the time, even on the day you get treated.

2) Our equipment is so powerful that it can chill the skin at the very same moment that the hair follicles are being destroyed. This makes your treatment much more comfortable. We offer a variety of topical anesthetics. Most of the time, our clients don't feel they need any anesthetic at all.

3) Clients with light colored skin and dark hair are the easiest to treat. The industry standard for clients with light colored skin and dark hair is that 5 OR 6 treatments should produce a 60-90% reduction in hair. 100% hair reduction may take more than that. Hair reduction includes turning dark hair into light hair, thick hair shafts becoming thin hair shafts and hair shafts that fall out and do not re-grow. The "ideal patient" would be an albino with black hair!

4) We have special equipment that can treat clients with dark skin or light hair. The darker the skin or the lighter the hair, the more treatments will be required. On average, clients with dark skin or light hair will take about 8 treatments to get the same results that clients with light skin and dark hair would get with 5 treatments.

5) White and gray hair can not be treated with a laser. Dark skin with light hair (very rare) can not be treated with a laser. Both of these conditions require electrolysis.
